Short Description

Jonathan Worley has directed the Writing Centre at St Mary’s since its inception in the spring of 2002. It was the first writing centre to be established on the Island of Ireland, and since then, the St Mary’s Writing Centre has assisted in the establishment of other writing centres in the UK and Ireland. In 2005, it was designated a National Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning. He also teaches courses on academic reading and writing for the Liberal Arts Degree. Jonathan has had significant involvement in bringing the teaching of writing to secondary schools in Northern Ireland through a series of outreach programmes. He has established an international partnership with the Merrimack College (USA) Writing Centre for the purposes of student exchange and collaborative research.
