It is with sadness that the College community records
the death on 22 February 2011 of T P Flanagan RIP.
T P Flanagan commenced his work at St Mary’s
in 1954 and took over the role of Head of the Art Department in
1965.
The College Principal said.
"Many hundreds of student teachers had
the great fortune of being inspired by him and the benefit of
that had implications for decades in school classrooms throughout
Ireland and beyond".
Terry left the College in 1982.
He was a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy and
also a life-long member of the Royal Ulster Academy.
Over 3000 of his paintings exist all over the world.
The painting featured 'In The Picture' can be viewed
outside the College Chapel at St Mary's.
