Danny Kennedy MLA, Minister for Employment and Learning, recently visited St Mary’s University College in West Belfast.

During his visit the Minister said:

“St Mary’s University College continues to play an integral role in the educational and social development of west Belfast. The College is to be congratulated for the consistently high quality of the learning experience provided to students, a fact which is borne out in its continued strong performance in the National Student Survey. To be placed second out of all Higher Education Institutions in the UK for student satisfaction is an accomplishment of which everyone at the College can be rightfully proud.”

The National Student Survey runs across all publicly funded Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as participating HEIs in Scotland and asks students to provide feedback on their courses in a nationally recognised format.

During his visit, the Minister toured the campus and took time to discuss the work of staff and student teachers at the College, which provides courses for the education of teachers and caters mainly for the primary school sector as well as liberal arts.
