GAA Academy

The GAA Academy at St Mary’s creates opportunities for young athletes to develop themselves through a series of ongoing programmes and workshops. Throughout the academic year the athletes avail of support in areas such as functional screening followed by corrective programmes in strength and conditioning, nutritional, psychological and lifestyle support. This support is provided by Games development officer Gavin McGilly and other professionals within their area of expertise.

Sports Facilities

Sports facilities for students provided by the College include a Sports Hall with gymnasium, a Sports Performance Centre and access to the adjacent floodlit 3G multi-sports pitch at St Dominic’s. Elite athletes can avail of the services provided by the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland, which has a base at the College.

St Mary’s students may also take out membership of the Physical Education Centre at Queen’s University.
